AIDA Foundation is a professional theater for young audiences. It was established at the end of 1996 in order to further the cultural activities and work, in the theater field, that had already been carried out for fourteen years by the Association of the same name. In 1987 it reached the recognition of the Culture Ministry / Department of Theater. It is recognized by the Veneto Region as non-profit organization.
The AIDA Foundation aims to contribute to the cultural growth of the younger generation, helping them to overcome their difficulties through the medium of all-encompassing cultural programmes. Theater is the art form most favored by the AIDA Foundation for fullfilling that aim. This work entails promoting, creating and spreading theater and other cultural activities, created specifically with an audience of children and the young, in mind. In addition to this we also deal with socio-cultural and theater courses, and have multi-functional cultural facilities available.
AIDA Foundation organizes theater events for two theaters in Verona, each one hosting 275 people. We also cooperate with other European networks, such as UNIMA, EunetART etc. Moreover, AIDA Foundation is a vocational training center, acknowledged by the Veneto Region (Italian Regional Authority), which organizes training courses for the professional profiles occurring in the field of performing arts. These courses are addressed to young actors with also the aim and the opportunity to create work places within AIDA Foundation productions.
